Know Your New Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure- Ebrima Sillah
Ebrima Sillah has twenty five years of uninterrupted journalism experience in both the electronic and print media fifteen years of which have been spent with the international media and international development organizations.

Prior to his appointment as Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Ebrima Sillah served as Minister of Information and Telecommunication Infrastructure from 2018 to May 2022.Before his appointment as Minister of Information and Communication Infrastructure, Mr. Sillah was Director General of The Gambia Radio & Television Services (GRTS) from 2017 - 2018.
Hon. Sillah was working with the African Centre for Development Reporting based in
Accra, Ghana before returning to The Gambia in 2017.Minister Sillah started his career in 1993 as a reporter with The Point Newspaper and later moved to New Citizen Newspaper and Citizen FM Radio where he worked as a reporter and rose through the ranks to become the Editor.From 1997 - 2001, Mr. Sillah worked as the BBC Banjul stringer and was later posted to Dakar, Senegal in 2002 where he reported on multiple countries (Senegal, Gambia, Mauritania, Guinea Bissau and Cape Verde) providing daily coverage and constant news update on the region.In 2009, Mr. Sillah had a career shift to work in the international development filed using the media to enhance development outcomes. He worked in several East African countries before he moved to Nigeria where he worked with the UNDP as Communication Specialist in 2014 –2015.The New Minister of Works has solid experience in managing and supervising large scale multimillion dollar projects covering the entire continent as well as country specific thematic areas...having served as the Pan African Radio Platform Project Coordinator for Panos Institute West Africa (PIWA) funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation covering the entire continent, as well as project coordinator in Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal and other countries.
Mr. Sillah also has high level experience in information management, advocacy in media, human rights promotion and campaign strategies on development issues.
He is married.
