The Sukuta-to-Jambanjelly Road, with a total length of approximately 13.1 km, linking the rural and peri-urban setting in the Brikama Municipal Area (West Coast Region) to the urban and suburban settlements of Kanifing Municipality, the mostly densely populated municipality in the country. The project road starts where the Westfield-Sukuta Road project terminates at Sukuta Water Treatment plant in Kombo North and run through Jabang, Jamburr, Latria and ends at Jambanjelly in Kombo south district all in the West Coast Region.

The Sukuta-to-Jambanjelly road consist of the construction of an asphalt concrete dual carriageway for its entire length with intermittent parking lanes from CH 0+000 to CH 11+840. The section of the road within the village of Jambanjelly from CH 11+840 to CH 13+157 shall have raised and paved pedestrians’ walkways with streetlights. In addition to extensive drainage works, the project also includes installation of traffic lights with street lighting at main junctions.
GEOTECHNICAL ACTIVITIES
The quality control on materials/works process and monitoring of the processing of the pavement layers and concrete works were the key activities of the site laboratory.
SURVEY WORKS
The survey works consisted on the setting out of the centerline and offsets (right-of-way) of the project road, the monitoring and inspection of finished levels for both road and civil works, monitoring of paved width, levels and regularity.
