Significant improvement on activities on these roads has b en made with overall progress for Phase 1 at 90% completed while Phase 2 is progressively 75% completed. The Consultant is Cityscape Associates and the Contractor is Gai Construction.
The Phase 1 of this project is 39Km road which starts from Sankandi – Jeferong – Bajana – Kuli Kunda – Keneba – Manduar – Kuyan – Karantaba.
The Road sealing is completed. Setting out of center lane is done up to Karantaba. While road Painting expected to start next week.
The Phase 2 is a 48km road which covers Jali, Kantong Kunda, Kuli Kunda, Tankular, Keneba Tenda, Joulie, Kemoto,Janneh Kunda, Bush Town, Karantaba, Burong, Taburongkoto ,Missira Tenda and two other villages.
Currently, earthworks are completed to base level upto 40km out of the 48km.
The Sealing of Jali Roads 2.2Km is also completed.Earthworks are completed upto base level along the Keneba riverside 2.8km road.
The Manduar – Joulie 11Km road has also made a significant progress .Earthworks arecompleted. The Road sealing now done up-to 7km out of the 11km.
The Karantaba Gamtel bypass 0.3Km is also progressing with earthworks done up to subbase level.
The Karantaba center linking: Phase 1; Janneh kunda; Medina & Burong. Over 50% of earthworks done to subbase level and progressing.
